Mechanical Assemblers - 2ND SHIFT (Training on 1st)

We are partnering with our manufacturing client in Lombard in their search for a rockstar Engine Assembler that is looking for a place to call home. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identifies and completes the assembly of the unit using provided work instructions and specified tools
  • checks continuity (resistance - using a multimeter) or potted shafts and stators
  • fill the right type of oil in the drum motors specified in the work order
  • Completes the assembly of the entire unit including alignments and closing
  • Completes the pressure check of the unit
  • Runs the motor to check the noise and amps and make necessary adjustments
  • Delivers assembled motor to shipping areas
  • Informs lead hand/supervisor of any inconsistencies with work orders and complies with health and safety policies and procedures at all times
  • Responsible for ensuring that unit assembly is packed appropriately for shipping and all equipment are itemized on a packing slip
  • Ensure that quality of work meets established standards and inspect materials received
  • Inform the supervisor if any technical problems arise
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures
  • Responsible for their own assembled units
  • Ensure that the work area is maintained in a neat, orderly and safe fashion at all time
  • Performs duties in a safe manner, maintains a neat and safe workstation and complies with health and safety policies and procedures at all times


  • Experience with tools including wrenches and socket wrenches, pneumatic drills.
  • Experience building, engines, pumps, hydraulics, motors, tool use and demonstrate mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
  • Able to bend, lift and move easily
  • Applicant must be dependable, hardworking and detail oriented with a good work history
  • Welding and/or Painting is a plus!
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
Hours: Monday - Friday/
Training Hours: Monday - Friday/6:00 am - 2:30 pm (OT/Weekends required as needed)
Hours: 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM 
This is a Contract-to-Hire contract position.
