We are looking for a Maintenance Technician, responsible for repairing and maintaining machinery, mechanical equipment, production machines and equipment, as well as building maintenance support, to start in our clients' manufacturing facility in Elk Grove, IL.

Responsibilities:

  • Test and repair malfunctioning production equipment/machinery and notifies appropriate personnel with little to no assistance;
  • Provide support, direction and development to other team members under the guidance of the Maintenance Supervisor;
  • Install equipment, machines, or programs to meet specifications with no assistance;
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine what maintenance is needed;
  • Align machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, and precision instruments with minor to no assistance;
  • Assemble and install equipment using hand and power tools without needing guidance;
  • Use welding skills/equipment (Mig, Tig, Stick, Torch) to fabricate and repair chutes, conveyors, hoppers, etc;
  • Demonstrate a high level of mechanical aptitude and must possess the knowledge of timing of cams and gears, how to set backlash, replace bushings;
  • Understand hydraulic principles, pneumatic principles etc;
  • Maintain current knowledge and actively addresses safety and environmental issues;
  • Other duties may include janitorial, plumbing, pipefitting, painting, security, carpentry;
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree from a technical college preferred;
  • 5+ years maintenance experience required; apprenticeship or Journeyman experience preferred;
  • Ability to complete basic mathematical calculations;
  • Forklift truck experience required;
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and safety documentation;
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds;
  • Ability to complete routine PM documents;
  • Understanding of and compliance with safety rules and regulations;
  • Ability to navigate CMMS software;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills;
  • Internal drive and interest in personal development;

Hours: 2nd shift
Pay: $.22.00 - $30.00/Hour
