Production Balance Technician

We are looking for a Production Balance Technician to join its team in Elmhurst, IL. The primary role of this job is to safely and accurately balance the production runs of rotating equipment at the RES shop (other than the AS quality standard parts). The role involves understanding the scope of the work, solving the balancing need, making accurate corrections as needed per quality standards and documenting the work that was done. This person interacts with co-workers and customers to assure the success of the project and the satisfaction of the customer. The person in this position is also involved in all aspects of shop functioning by assisting the shop manager as needed to keep the operation running smoothly. An additional part of the job is driving the company trucks for deliveries to customer facilities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Machining, drilling, welding, and grinding are an integral part of the job to bring parts within balance tolerance.
  • Strict adherence to safety procedures
  • Full understanding of balancing theory and the math used
  • Efficient setup of any of the balancing machines
  • Determining the safe and accurate correction for the balancing of rotating equipment
  • Able to execute any of the correction methods: grinding, drilling, milling, as well as applicable welding techniques
  • Proficient at efficiently completing any of the balance work we face to meet quality standards
  • Understanding of ISO and AS quality standards
  • Aware of conditions to work in a safe manner conscious of one’s own safety and the safety of others
  • Careful handling of customer and RES equipment
  • Clearly and accurately document the process and results of balance jobs
  • Take the initiative to find the most productive means to accomplish tasks
  • Safely operate all shop equipment including, but not limited to cranes, forklift, drill presses, milling machines, grinders, and saws. 
  • Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of equipment and facility
  • Available to work overtime and weekends as needs arise
  • Participation in on-going training

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00/Hour 
Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM Monday - Friday plus Over-time
