Logistics Coordinator

We are looking for experienced Import/Export Logistics Coordinators to start ASAP in the Franklin Park, IL office. Previous experience working in a logistics office a must!

Job Duties:

  • Collaborate with other departments as necessary to meet customer requirements, to take advantage of sales opportunities or, in the case of shortages, to minimize negative impacts on a business;
  • Develop an understanding of customer’s needs and take actions to ensure that such needs are met;
  • Establish task priorities, scheduling and tracking work assignments;
  • Maintain and develop a positive business relationship with a customer’s key personnel involved in or directly relevant to a logistics activity;
  • Protect and control propriety materials;
  • Co-ordinate and facilitate cross-training within the customer service department;
  • Oversee and ensure proper tracking and tracing shipment for clients, keeping customers well informed of any updates;
  • Take incoming phone calls and respond to issues quickly and accurately;
  • Billing on time, zero demurrage mind set, detention, exam fees and etc.;
  • Must have a good computer data entry skills, word, excel and Microsoft office
  •  Process air/ocean and/or out-of-state shipments
  • Manage shipment including data entry, track and tracing
  • Maintain knowledge of current customs regulations
  • Maintain communication with carriers, other freight forwarders, customer service team
  • Interact with overseas agents
  • Prepare all necessary documentation such as arrival notices
  • Cross checking the cost and selling rate between origin offices and sales team
  • Proactively communicate to the customer service team on the status of their shipments
  • Understand carrier release process and differences in types of bills of lading
  • Facilitate non-typical or specialized customer service team’s requests
  • Support and maintain standard operational reporting
  • Perform related duties as assigned by management

Required Skills

  • At least 3 years of experience working in a logistics office
  • Experience processing import/export documents preferred
  • High school diploma required, higher education preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Able to meet and exceed strict deadlines
  • Able to thrive in a busy environment

Hours: M-F 8A-5PM

Pay: $14-16/hr based on experience
